ON NUREMBERG'S UNDERGROUND & TRAIN

Nuremberg is a very extended city of the region of Franconia in the German state of Bavaria, with half a million inhabitants. So the underground together with trams and buses are important for the movement of the people. During our stay, students and teachers have frequently used the undeground or U-bahn,  as they call it. I used to get on the U2 line, which covered the route between Röthenbach and Ziegelstein or Flughafen (the airport), depending on the train. My stops were St. Leonhard, where I lived, and Rathenauplatz, the nearest station to the Willstätter Gymnasium. Miss the rides...

We also used the railway train to go to Bamberg, Regentsburg & Munich, leaving from Nuremberg's main railway station (Hauptbahnhof Nürnberg). This was our meeting point:

REMEMBERING NUREMBERG

PRIVATE VISITS AROUND NUREMBERG

The teachers, in our spare time, made some private visits, apart from the trips that had  been organized with our students. Here's a selection of photos of these visits.

(Thursday 12th April, evening)
- Attended the Willstätter Drama group performing "Woyzek". 


(Friday 13th April, afternoon)
- Visited the Germanische Museum at the Human Rights Street, Nürnberg.

(Saturday 14th April)
- Strolling Nürnberg's city wall fortifications, passing by the Opera House (Opernhaus) to the Railaway Station (Haupfbahnhof).

- Trip to Regentsburg.

(Sunday 15th April)
- Outside the Neues Museum, Nürnberg.

- Hiking trip along the Pegnitz river from Velden to Rupprechtstegen and back.
Sunday brunch @ Grenz-Zoigl, Ranna.
Neuhaus Burg.

(Monday 16th April)
- By the Pegnitz river @ Wöhrder Wiese, Nürnberg.
