PRONUNCIATION OF THE "-S" ENDING

Here's another post devoted to pronunciation. Pronunciation in English because there aren't many fixed rules for it. But the few there are must be known. One is the pronunciation of final regular verb "-ED" ending. And in this post you can see the rule to pronounce plural noun endings, 34d person singular "-(E)S" endings and "'S" possessive endings. At the same time you can check on plural spellings, too.

PERSONAL PRONOUNS: SUBJECT/OBJECT, POSSESSIVES & REFLEXIVES

Position in the sentence: SUBJECT PRONOUNS go IN FRONT OF the verb or BETWEEN the auxiliary verb and the main verb in questions. OBJECT PRONOUNS go AFTER a verb or a preposition.

Position in the sentence: POSSESSIVE ADJECTIVES go BEFORE the noun. POSSESSIVE PRONOUNS go INSTEAD of the noun already mentioned before.

REMEMBER: WE ALWAYS USE A POSSESSIVE WITH A PART OF THE BODY. NEVER THE ARTICLE.

WHEN TO USE AN APOSTROPHE

Here's a quick guide to the use of apostrophes. Remember:

- USE IT IN CONTRACTIONS.
don't / can't / it's / we're / you'd / etc...
- USE IT WITH THE POSSESSIVE GENITIVE.
Peter's car / Mary's umbrella / the cat's feet / etc...
- BUT NEVER USE IT TO MAKE PLURALS OF NOUNS.
books / houses / tomatoes / DVDs / CDs / 80s / etc...
