EU TO STOP TIME SHIFTING

This weekend will be changing the time again, we'll have one extra hour to sleep... Previously this summer, there has seen controversy throughout Europe to stop shifting time in Spring and Autumn. It's said that March 2019 will see the last time shift as Governments consider this change has more disadvantages, specially in people's health, than benefits in saving energy. Not changing the time will mean that each country will have to opt for one of the time patterns (Winter's or Summer's) and some like Spain will also have to consider in adapting its time to our appropriate time zone or not.

20 YEARS GOOGLING

Our favourite search engine is celebrating its 20th birthday today. 20 years searching for information.

REMEMBERING PACO DE LA IGLESIA, FORMER ENGLISH TEACHER AT "RAFAEL DIESTE"

The school community of the "Rafael Dieste" is very sad to learn that one of our most precious former teachers and member of the first English Department of this school from its beginning until 2007, Paco de la Iglesia. RIP.
In fact, Paco had been my tutor-trainer during my teacher training course previous to my official teacher exam and also coincidingly he left me his post at this school when retiring.

REMEMBERING PACO DE LA IGLESIA

All the members of the IES Plurilingüe "Rafael Dieste" school community are sad to know about the death of one of the dearest teachers here, PACO DE LA IGLESIA.
One of the first teachers of our English Department since the first years of this school up to 2007.
From here all our love and respect to his family and friends.
RIP, Paco.

BANNING MOBILE PHONE USAGE @ "RAFAEL DIESTE"

This course has started with new rules and regulations at "Rafael Dieste".
The use of mobile phones has been banned in all the school venues during all times, both classes and breaks. Mobile phones cannot be seen at any moment of the school schedule. If phones are brought to school, they must always be disconnected and kept in the school bags. Phones are not necessary at school. If there's an emergency, school phones can be used.
Another new regulation is that no ESO students can leave school if there's no class in the last session. Only BAC students can.

ENVIRONMENT: HOW LONG UNTIL IT'S DECOMPOSED?

EU wants to ban the use of plastic bags, plastic cutlery (forks & knives), plastic plates and cups and straws, taking a look at this chart the reason why is quite clear! It seems we should do so as soon as possible.

'RAFAEL DIESTE' 2018 STUDENTS' GRADUATION

This evening we said goodbye, once again, to another 2nd Bac year students from IES Plurilingüe "Rafael Dieste". It was the 2012-2018 group of pupils. The event was held at the "Andrés Gaos" Auditorium at the nearby Superior Music Conservatory. And like every year, speeches, videos, performances and memories reminded us of their years at our school.
Here are photos of the outstanding moments.

Congratulations and good luck to all!
